Mount Hope, WV (WOAY) – On November 1, SNAP benefits will not be distributed due to the government shutdown.
Although the federal government has roughly $5 billion in contingency funds available, the Trump administration says the funds can’t be used to cover the benefits.
The shutdown is already beginning to impact local food banks.
WOAY stopped by the Mountaineer Food Bank giveaway in Mount Hope to see how things were going.
