UPDATE: MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WOAY) – A motorcycle accident in Fayette County leaves one person dead. Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information regarding this incident.
Notification was recieved this afternoon by the Fayette County 911 Center of a motorcycle vs car accident on Meadow Bridge Road (WV Rt 31) between Danese and Meadow Bridge at around 3:30 PM. Responders found that a motorcycle had lost control and slid underneath an oncoming vehicle.
The occupant of the motorcycle, Randy Lee James Acord (33) of Beckley, died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. Route 31 was closed for a period of time while Deputies conducted investigations and Fire/EMS personnel performed their duties.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Fayette County Dispatchers tell WOAY that the crash was reported at shortly after 3:30 pm. Meadow Bridge Road is currently closed.
Meadow Bridge Fire Department, Danese Fire Department, Jan Care, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department are still on scene.
