WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning commute has been disrupted by rain, ice, and snow across the region. Snow has been mostly sticking to the high mountains, while ice and rain have been more widespread. This trend will continue through the morning as you make your commute to work or school. It will be mostly rain in the afternoon, but some areas will see some lingering snow after the system passes later in the day. This overall messy weather has led to a Winter Weather Advisory being issues across most of the region until 1 PM today. Many schools have also issued delays as a result of the icy roads. Thankfully, we will get a break in the middle of the week before more chances for wintery weather pass by. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Wednesday and Thursday will be notable in the fact that they will be completely dry. No rain, snow, or ice is expected as mostly sunny skies take over on Wednesday. Thursday will be mostly cloudy, but won’t bring in any additional precipitation. Our next active pattern will start on Friday as a system from the south will ride up the eastern states and bring more rain, snow, and ice into the region. This likely starts early in the afternoon and continues into Saturday morning before dissipating. Sunday and Monday will continue to carry chances of wintery weather as smaller disturbances may pass by. We’ll be keeping an eye on this weekend as things are developing.
