MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County Schools have adjusted the school calendar for this academic year.
According to officials, Mercer County Schools started back earlier than most school systems in the state. Â Several make-up days were not used due to a mild winter. Â Meals and continuing instruction will continue until May 21, 2020. Â That will be the last day of school.
Individual schools will establish procedures for the return of books, equipment, etc. to schools. Each school will also communicate with you regarding instructional activities and assignments.
“Now that we know that school will not reopen this school year, we are working on plans for commencement and end-of-the-year school recognitions. Please know that in planning for these events, our priority is to provide a quality and memorable experience while protecting the health and safety of everyone.”
