Mercer County Commissioners dismiss medical cannabis proposal

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County residents should not expect to see a medical cannabis dispensary anytime soon.

In Tuesday’s city council meeting, elected members dismissed the proposal of growing medical cannabis in city limits. Commissioner Greg Puckett says he’s personally against the plan until there’s additional research that can prove medical cannabis can help with health conditions.

“There were a lot of questions about whether or not to wear a mask. We understand that it is an issue right now. However, the studies that come out from the CDC say it does help to slow the spread of the disease,” said County Commissioner Greg Puckett.
