Mercer County Commission ask community for help to fill health officials positions

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – In late July, three Mercer County health officials unexpectedly left their positions.

The Mercer County Commission board is now moving forward to fulfill those positions. The board is asking the community to nominate qualified health personnel. On Friday, board members will choose two candidates to give recommendations to.

“We understand that because of certain issues that took place a couple of weeks ago. The commission is tasked with trying to replace the two board members that are vacant on that board. We voted yesterday that we would take applications for potential members, and then on Friday, we’re going to have a special meeting to see if we can appoint new members to come and fill that void,” said County Commission, Greg Puckett.

Puckett says the community can expect the positions to be filled soon.
