PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Last week, Mercer County Clerk Verlin Moye tested positive for COVID-19.
The County Clerk office was closed, and all employees at the courthouse were tested for COVID. With no additional positive tests, the Clerk’s office reopened for business today.
“We went through a thorough cleaning process all of last week with our maintenance staff and our janitorial staff,” said Mercer County Commissioner Bill Archer. “They did a pretty comprehensive job. Also, the staff at the County Clerk’s Office also did some additional cleaning in there themselves just so that they feel safe.”
Archer added that the employees in the Clerk’s Office are social distancing, and were excited to get back to work.
