Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – The Mercer County animal shelter got a tip about animals allegedly being neglected.
When officials with the shelter arrived at the home, they found several dogs malnourished and two cats in one crate, both with injuries.
One cat was so bad that the shelter says they normally would have put the feline down.
The animal was still fighting for life, so they decided to give it a fighting chance, and it is currently recovering at a local vet. The other cat had lost an ear.
That cat, now named Van Gogh, is being fostered by one of the animal shelter employees.
The shelter is asking for donations to help with the vet bills for not only the cats but the dogs that were found as well.
