BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Marquee Cinemas is planning to reopen later this week with some mild changes.
For safety reasons, there will be a reduced seating capacity in the theaters and there will be more time in between shows for cleaning. Social distancing will also be heavily encouraged. Masks are not required to be worn but they are also encouraged.
General manager of the theater Jacob Armstrong says he’s expecting people to be excited when they reopen.
“There’s nobody around that can provide the type of entertainment that we provide at the quality that we provide. I think folks are real excited to get out of the house, come watch a movie and enjoy it. We’re here to provide a safe, comfortable environment for you to do that,” Armstrong said.
The staff also encourages patrons to order tickets online to avoid contact in lines and to use credit cards at the concession stand, although this is not required.
The only services at the theater that won’t be available for the time being are the arcade machines, to keep contact to a minimal level.
Marquee Cinemas reopens this Friday, June 12.
