March’s Active Start Continues

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After lingering showers with rain and freezing rain leave the eastern counties, more rain will make its way into the region this afternoon. However, temperatures will be steadily rising today, making for a much warmer day ahead. Highs will be just below 60 degrees for most, and all precipitation that falls will be rain. These showers will move out temporarily in the evening, but the stalling front just to our north will continue to drop showers and storms into the region for the coming days. If there is one thing you will want for the rest of the week, it is either an umbrella or a rain jacket. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Temperatures will continue to rise across the region, bringing on the development of thunderstorms for the second half of the work week. These showers and storms will continue to be scattered as the heaviest rain stays to the north, but conditions will be gloomy, damp, and stormy for the next few days. This front will remain basically stationary in northern West Virginia until late Thursday into early Friday morning. Only then will the front start to push to the northeast, ending the torrent of showers and storms in our area. However, the active weather will not end there.

Rain leaves Friday evening and likely stays away Saturday morning, but the next front will start to move through later in the day on Saturday. The brief break will be interrupted by more showers and thunderstorms, which will be more widespread that previous days. This front will be moving to the northeast, but may bring some heavier rain along with it. The front will last through much of Sunday before moving along and leaving some lingering showers behind.
