Local nursing home needs PPE donations

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Harper Mills nursing home in Beckley needs your help protecting its patients and staff members.

The healthcare facility posted on Facebook that it desperately needs masks, gowns and gloves in order to make it through the coming weeks. While it is confident no one has brought the virus in the facility, CEO Larry Pack wants to keep it that way.

“We have a population that is there for a longer stay [and] generally they’re very sick people,” said Pack. “For them to get that virus, [it’s really difficult] for them to be able to fight it off.”

If you have equipment you would like to donate, drop it off outside the front door of the nursing home. The staff will put the donations in a secure room for 72 hours before cleaning and dispensing them to staff members.
