Local medical facility resumes non-emergency surgeries

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Starting today, Dr. Conley’s office in Oak Hill will resume non-emergency surgeries for the first time since the pandemic.

The medical facility has not done a non-emergency surgery since mid-March. Dr. Conley says he will slowly increase the number of surgeries as time goes on. His biggest concern is maintaining his supply of PPE.

“Procedures for people who have waited quite some time. They can get procedures done whether it be a scope or surgeries and they really just can’t wait anymore it’s not necessarily emergent but its something that is more than a screening. So that’s what Governor laying out an opening of some procedures that is what we’re doing as now,” said Dr. Conley.

Each patient will be required to test negative for COVID-19 before the surgery.
