West Virginia (WOAY)- Two local food banks are sounding the alarm as more families struggle to put food on the table.
In Wyoming County, the Itmann Food Bank, run entirely by volunteers, has become a lifeline for families hit hard by layoffs, lost benefits, and rising grocery costs.
Director Anthony Mullins says demand is at a record high, and they need help keeping shelves stocked.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support their efforts.
Meanwhile, in Greenbrier County, the Dinner Every Day campaign is working to ensure every child and family has a hot meal.
Following recent cuts to SNAP benefits, the Lewisburg–Fairlea food bank has seen a surge in need.
Donations to that campaign help supply ten local food banks with fresh produce, pantry staples, and healthy meals.
