Local flower shop stays open on Mother’s Day to serve community during pandemic

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A flower shop recently opened up after being closed during the pandemic, and has seen a huge boom in business just in time for Mother’s Day.

Typically local flower shops close on holidays, but the Colonial Florists flower shop stayed open for Mother’s Day.

Owner of the shop Wesley Brown says he decided to stay open because his customers are like his family. He takes orders over the phone and offers deliveries to keep patrons safe.

According to Brown, flowers can make up for the fact that people aren’t able to take their mothers out to eat for this holiday, and he’s happy to serve them for that purpose.

Colonial Florists has been serving the Princeton community for 19 years.
