BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Little General Stores continued its annual tradition of supporting Toys for Tots, an initiative that ensures children have gifts to open during the holiday season.
On Tuesday, December 9, at the Little General location on Harper Road in Beckley, the company presented a $5,000 donation to Toys for Tots. Charles Houck, Director of Public Relations for Little General, said the company is proud to help make Christmas brighter for local children.
“Toys for Tots is so wonderful to give back to the kids during the Christmas season,” Houck said.
Little General wasn’t the only contributor this year. The Arby’s Foundation also stepped in with a significant donation of $10,000. Josh Weitzman, Assistant Food Services Director for Little General, said the timing was perfect.
“They even rushed it to us so it got here in time for the holidays,” Weitzman said. “It’ll make a lot of toys for a lot of kids. I’m super excited about that.”
Both organizations say they hope their contributions help ensure no child goes without a gift this Christmas.
