WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The heaviest portion of the winter storm has passed through, but lingering snow will continue to fall through the afternoon. This will make commutes in the morning and evening tricky especially with roads still being icy. Stay at home unless absolutely necessary and drive slowly if you have to go anywhere. Cold Weather Advisories and Extreme Cold Warnings have been issued around the region, starting at 7 PM and lasting until noon tomorrow. Wind chills will dip into the negative teens tonight and into tomorrow morning. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
While tomorrow is sunny skies, temperatures continue to stay well below freezing, meaning we won’t see much of the snow and ice melt away. A small clipper system will move into the region Wednesday night, bringing another round of snow into the region. Thursday will be another mostly cloudy day with cold temperatures sticking around. The middle of the week will be the “best” weather we see, but the harsh reality of winter has really kicked in. Make sure to open cabinets and drip faucets to keep pipes from freezing, and know where your water shutoff is in case they do freeze.

Friday night will be the next chance of snow, and this could develop into our next winter storm. We are seeing signals for a winter storm on the eastern coast this weekend, but things are still very uncertain. While things are still up in the air this weekend, it is likely we see some sort of wintery precipitation. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation as the week goes on.
