From early Sunday morning into Sunday night, some accumulated snow could be expected through most of the area. 1-3 inches of snow appear possible in the highest terrain areas of Greenbrier/Nicholas and Pocahontas Counties with locally higher amounts possible. This is not the only storm in the forecast though!

As we look ahead until later in the week, Thursday morning should see snow for the majority of the region. Totals are still variable between models and since it’s still that far out, we will not post any for this next storm. Stay tuned for later updates as we get closer to this event and details become more refined.

The futurecast rainfall does show quite a bit of rain in the European model for the western part of our viewing area through the next 7 days. This includes multiple storm systems that move through our region in the next 7 days. Some areas could pick up close to, if not, over an inch of rainfall. The GFS model also shows a similar output, more rain to the west and less rain to the east.

Here is a look at that 7 day forecast, Monday and Tuesday are clear days. Starting Wednesday, we have some rain in the region that will transition to snow heading into Thursday morning with that snow continuing to linger into Friday and potentially into Saturday. Although, the chances of that are still low at this time!
