Law enforcement encourages continued following of CDC guidelines despite lax in regulations

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – This weekend is the first since the majority of the state has reopened and it’s seen many people venturing outside.

Despite the good news, it’s still important to remain safe as the pandemic is far from over.

Sergeant Greg Kade at the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department recommends people continue to follow the CDC guidelines while they enjoy themselves outside.

“I think that they just need to follow the CDC guidelines and take the necessary precautions that are advised. But also get out, enjoy the sun and just be safe. If you go for a ride, take your family for a drive, just be safe. But like I said, just following the CDC guidelines is what we should be doing,” Kade said.

The best way to stay safe is to social distance and wear a mask, even if you don’t feel sick.
