WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A few random storms Wednesday afternoon and showers Thursday will give way to a soaking Friday.
Debby promises 1.0-2.5 inches of rain to the region Friday and it will be a steady rain that we need. Up until then, a random storm is likely Wednesday afternoon, best chance north of Oak Hill, and then a few random showers on Friday. Following the soaking on Friday into early Saturday, a front pushing Debby east will bring a fall preview.
Debby’s likely track through the end of the week (below).
One thing to keep in mind with Debby is that it will track to our east over I-81. East of a tropical storm’s track (Ivan is the example below), severe storms and tornadoes are a threat along with brief, torrents of rain. West of a tropical system’s center is where the steady rain is expected.
