West Virginia (WOAY)—The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announces tax relief for West Virginia residents impacted by February’s severe flooding.
Impacted residents have until November 3 to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make payments.
Following the FEMA disaster declaration, individuals and households with businesses in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne, and Wyoming counties qualify for tax relief.
The November deadline applies to individual income tax returns and payments normally due on April 15 and 2024 contributions to IRAs and health savings accounts.
The same relief will be available to other impacted counties that have yet to be added to the disaster area.
