PINEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – For the last couple of weeks, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department has been assisting with increased COVID-19 prevention efforts at the county courthouse.
The department had already been registering temperature checks at the door, and has since implemented questions relating to trips out of state or to COVID hot spots, among others. The increased efforts are intended to keep the Wyoming County Courthouse open and operating safely.
“I still say that we haven’t had any problems,” said Chief Deputy Bradley Ellison. “The public is receptive to a deputy being at the door taking their temperature and asking them the questions. We haven’t had any issues. If they answer yes to one of the questions, we dig a little bit deeper.”
The strict limitations within the courthouse will still be in place going forward.
