Hot for the next few hours, slightly cooler through Thursday

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today has been a sweltering day across the region, with highs reaching the upper 80s and feeling more like the 90s in many locations. The heat advisory currently in effect will expire tonight at 8 PM.

While we are in for a couple of humid days, the good news is that temperatures will be slightly cooler tomorrow, and by Thursday, we will see highs in the low 80s.

The outskirts of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beryl may bring us some rain tomorrow, but it’s uncertain how much, if any, will reach us. Our neighbors in Virginia have the best chance for rain tomorrow. Overall, mostly dry conditions are expected for the week. For the week ahead, expect a typical summerlike pattern with a few storms in our higher elevations.

Stay cool and hydrated, and keep an eye out for any thunderstorms.
