Beckley, WV (WOAY) Raleigh County Schools is kicking off disability awareness week with a celebration of inclusion.
Speech-language therapists with the school system are hosting the third Annual Diversity Awareness Kick-Off on Friday, April 24, at Hollywood Elementary School.
The event aims to promote understanding and acceptance of students with both visible and invisible disabilities.
Families and community members are invited to attend.
The event will feature a special appearance by disability awareness week founder Laural Coleman, along with dance and sign language performances from current and former Raleigh County students.
Organizers say the event is designed to celebrate diversity and encourage continued awareness and advocacy throughout the community.
