LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – At Tuesday’s county commission meeting, Greenbrier County Emergency Management Director asked for additional funding for the department. Greenbriers County’s Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Mike Honaker is seeking nearly $20,000 for new radios and equipment.
Honaker says if his budget proposal is approved by the commission he’ll promise that he wouldn’t ask for anything else for the next couple of years.
“We’re asking for additional funding to continue to repair and replace equipment related to the seven towers that are located throughout Greenbrier County that are utilized by the 911 center. Those are crucial to public safety,” said Mike Honaker Greenbrier County’s Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Honaker and the county commission will meet again on Monday to discuss the budget.
