WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning has started breezy and cool, but we will eventually warm back up into the 70s as the skies stay sunny. However, showers and storms will become the standard after Tuesday evening. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:
Tuesday will start off with partly cloudy skies, but showers and storms will start in the evening hours. The first round of storms will bring severe weather, mainly to the northern counties of Fayette and Nicholas with some parts of Raleigh and Wyoming also within the “marginal” severe risk. Damaging winds are the main concern with hail as a possibility. Rotation and flooding are unlikely, though ponding in vulnerable spots will be possible. Here’s the outlook on Tuesday’s severe weather:
The storms will weaken into showers overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning before becoming scattered. By the afternoon, showers will develop more widely across the area. The situation is similar on Thursday as well, with more showers and storms on the docket as a low-pressure system starts making its way towards our area. Friday will be the last day of rain as the low pressure moves past our area. Showers will be scattered through the day, though may become more widespread if the low pressure moves southward before going up towards Canada. Make sure you have your rain gear ready starting tomorrow and stay aware in case thunderstorms strike the area.
Luckily, a high pressure will sweep in and push away any lingering showers Saturday morning, resulting in a beautiful weekend ahead. Temperatures will dip into the low 60s Saturday before rebounding into the high 60s Sunday. High pressure will remain prevalent during the entire weekend, giving us mostly sunny skies.
