Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – Governor Patrick Morrisey held a press conference in Charleston on Tuesday, calling on lawmakers to pass his budget and cut West Virginia’s state income tax as the legislative session nears its final two weeks.
His budget has a five percent cut built in. The Governor says the state can afford the cut thanks to work already done to trim the state’s budget.
According to Morrissey, West Virginia needs to make cuts to stay competitive with neighboring states.
