Charleston, WV (WOAY) Governor Patrick Morrisey has announced a new $1 million funding opportunity aimed at helping Emergency Medical Services agencies expand community paramedicine programs across West Virginia.
The funding is part of the state’s Connected Care Grid initiative and Rural Health Transformation Program.
The investment will support EMS-led community paramedicine, mobile-integrated health, and treat-in-place programs designed to improve healthcare access in rural and underserved communities.
State officials say the funding will help EMS providers offer on-scene assessments, connect patients with follow-up care, and reduce unnecessary ambulance transports and emergency room visits.
The initiative will also provide support for equipment, training, and technology upgrades.
Eligible organizations can apply through the state’s procurement and grants management system.
