Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY)- Lewisburg is once again sending a team to Beckley in search of a title.
Wednesday’s battle saw the 2-seeded Herbert Hoover Huskies girls soccer team face off against the top seeded Greenbrier East Spartans.
With the Class-AAA Region III Championship and a trip to state tournament on the line, the Spartans answered the call. Greenbrier East opened the second half with a 2-0 lead, but then turned up the heat with three goals to on to a convincing 5-1 victory over Herbert Hoover!
The Spartans will travel to Beckley for the tournament and will look to finish the job that was started last year when they made it to the state-semifinals.
