ATHENS, WV (WOAY) – Gear Up Southern West Virginia is inviting parents of middle schoolers to go on a college campus tour with their kids to prepare for the college search in high school.
Gear Up SWV is run by Concord University and New River Community and Technical College. The tour will be via a charter bus that will travel to two colleges in Virginia.
The bus leaves from Concord University at 8:15 a.m. and will stop at Radford University and Roanoke College. Parents and their children will get to experience the two campuses and learn what college is like.
The tour is open to parents of seventh and eighth-grade students in Monroe, Mercer, Summers, Raleigh, and Wyoming Counties.
There are 20 spots available, and registration closes on April 19.
