West Virginia (WOAY) Gas prices are continuing to fall across the Mountain State just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
According to GasBuddy, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in West Virginia dropped 8.2 cents over the past week to $3.75.
That’s nearly 57 cents lower than a month ago, although prices remain about 65 cents higher than this time last year.
The cheapest gas reported in the state was $3.11 a gallon, while the highest was $4.29.
In neighboring Charleston, drivers are paying an average of $3.81 a gallon, down nearly 9 cents from last week.
Nationwide, the average price of gasoline fell nearly 7 cents to $3.78 a gallon, while diesel prices also declined.
Gasbuddy says easing fuel prices are being helped by lower oil costs despite recent tensions in the Middle East, and many drivers could continue to see relief leading up to the Independence Day holiday.
