Expect to scrape frost off the car by Thursday or Friday morning, but then we are off to the races with temperatures this weekend!
OVERVIEW: No rain is expected until early Monday when the next front pushes across the region. We will likely see frost in patches early Tuesday, more likely Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning with likely Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings. Fabulous Friday football weather will be perfect with low 70s dropping into the 50s. Sunday will bring an elevated fire risk before the coldest weather of the season arrives Monday!
HURRICANE MILTON: If you know of anyone in Florida, tell them to heed evacuation orders. The major hurricane will produce widespread power outages and destruction along with flooding.
LONGER TERM PATTERN: Following the coldest snap of the season, look for the opposite end of the spectrum, well-above average temperatures starting Friday, October 18 through the end of the month. This is due to a transition from a very weak polar vortex to a stronger vortex. Greenland Blocking will subside and sustainable warmer temperatures will filter back into the East.
