West Virginia (WOAY)- Get your rods and reels ready
West Virginia’s Free Fishing Days are back June 7th and 8th!
The Division of Natural Resources (DNR) invites anglers of all ages to fish in public lakes, streams, and rivers without a license.
WVDNR Director Brett McMillion says it’s all about making memories outdoors, whether you’re a seasoned angler or casting a line for the first time.
Two youth fishing derbies will be held June 7th at Bowden Fish Hatchery and Little Beaver State Park—free and open to kids ages 3 to 14. Registration is required on-site, and prizes are up for grabs!
The Bowden Derby will also celebrate its 30th anniversary with fishing sessions by grade level starting at 8 a.m.
To keep the fun going year-round, anglers 15 and older can purchase a license at WVfish.com.
