Fire at Quality Inn Update

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – The Fayetteville Fire Department has provided an update regarding the fire that occurred Monday night at the Quality Inn in Fayetteville.

The Fire Department states that the fire started in the laundry room and spread to adjacent rooms and the attic.

The initial call was for a smoke investigation. The Fayetteville Fire Department arrived on scene around 7 minutes after being alerted and got to work containing the fire.

Our team on the ground saw members of Fayetteville, Oak Hill, Mount Hope, Nuttall, and Ansted Fire Departments on the scene, as well as the Sheriff’s Office, Fayetteville Police Station, and Jan Care ambulance.

Together, the agencies attacked the fire and stopped its spread. The fire alarm system told occupants to leave, and the Fayetteville Police Department aided in the evacuation process.

No injuries are reported.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal are investigating.
