Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) The Fayette County Election Office is calling on community members to step up and serve as poll workers for the upcoming election.
Officials say poll workers play a critical role in making sure Election Day runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently for all voters.
Duties include setting up polling locations, checking in voters, guiding residents through the voting process, and helping maintain order throughout the day.
Training is provided, and all workers are paid.
Compensation includes $50 for completing training and $175 for working on Election Day.
Fayette County Clerk Michelle L. Holly says poll workers are the backbone of Election Day, adding the county depends on dedicated, civic-minded individuals to keep the voting process safe, secure, and accessible.
The position is open to people of all backgrounds and experience levels, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how elections operate.
