Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) The Fayette County Animal Shelter is inviting the community to lace up their walking shoes for a St. Patrick’s Day Walk-a-Thon this weekend.
The event will be held Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 am to noon along the White Oak Rail Trail, with registration and T-shirt sales beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The shelter says the walk will happen rain or shine.
Participants can take part in a one-mile walk, bring their leashed dogs, or even walk an adoptable shelter dog.
There will also be a best-dressed dog costume contest with a St. Patrick’s Day theme.
Admission is free, but organizers will be collecting pet food and shelter supply donations to help care for animals in need.
