Executive Director of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority has resigned

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – The Executive Director of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority has resigned.

Jina Belcher submitted her resignation to the board of directors. She has held the role since 2020.

The New River Gorge Regional Development Authority is a major economic development organization in Southern West Virginia. The organization says it secured 24 million dollars in government funds in 2024.

In the interim, the board has appointed Amy Showalter as acting Executive Director.

In a statement, Belcher said that she is proud of the work the organization has done so far, and she believes the organization will continue to be a leader in economic development.

She said in part, “As the organization continues to evolve alongside changing opportunities and priorities, I feel this is the right time for me to transition to more strongly align with my purpose and passion for impact.”
