BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Elevation Sports, located in Beckley and Piney Creek Association, asks the community for help in cleaning up a common area.
An unattended area behind the Elevation Sports store adjacent to Dollar General’s parking lot tends to collect trash. Owner Andrew Hitchcock says even though Elevation Sports does not own the property, staff members constantly clean it up because it affects the environment and is an eyesore.
“I think it’s doing a lot to contribute to the quality of water. The water that’s coming through here is only collecting anything that is degrading from the trash, so it’s not good for the animals and the people. There’s a lot of things that it’s going to affect, and it’s an eyesore,” Hitchcock said.
If you would like to volunteer, The Clean up will be at 10 am this Saturday.
