Deadlines for Promise Scholarship and West Virginia Higher Education Grant approaching for high school seniors heading to college

Charleston, WV (WOAY) Deadlines are approaching for funding opportunities aimed at high school seniors seeking further education.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) and Community and Technical College System are reminding students of the application deadlines for the Promise Scholarship and West Virginia Higher Education Grant.

Promise scholarship applications are due by Sunday, March 1.

The WV Higher Education Grant applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 15

The Promise Scholarship eligibility requirements include:
  • ACT: 21 composite score with a minimum of 19 in English, math, science, and reading.
  • SAT: 1080 total score with a minimum of 510 each in math and evidence-based reading and writing
The Promise Scholarship application is available to access at cfwv.com/promise.

For help with filing the FAFSA or applications, students and families are encouraged to call the state’s financial aid hotline at 877-987-7664.
