Crab Orchard man pleaded guilty to being a felon with a firearm

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – On Tuesday, May 27, Joshua Mason Trotter, a 44-year-old man from Crab Orchard, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court records, on July 1, 2024, Trotter gained access to a Glock Model 21 .45 caliber pistol and a CBC Model 817 .17 caliber rifle.

Trotter confirmed he had these weapons and a 26 round magizine for the glock, around 10.51 grams of meth, and 25.95 grams of paraflurofentanyl, which is a synthetic opioid.

Federal law states a felon can’t have a gun or ammo. Trotter became a felon on november 29, 2017 for having meth with the intent to deliver.

Trotter is scheduled to be sentenced on September 26 of this year. He faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, up to 3 years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
