Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord University will host a regional academic competition on Saturday, February 21, 2025.
According to a press release from Concord University, the final showdown is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Ballroom, which is located on the top floor of the Student Center. Awards are scheduled to be presented at 3:30 p.m. after the competition.
The WV Academic Showdown is open to West Virginia high school students in grades 9-12 broken up into 7 regions around the state by teams. The competition at Concord is for region 5 which includes teams from Mercer, Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Fayette, Raleigh, Summers, McDowell, Randolph counties.
The two top teams from each region qualify for the championship competition at the West Virginia Culture Center on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
