Concord Basketball Drops Doubleheader at Shepherd

WOAY – Concord basketball lost both games of a doubleheader Thursday night at Shepherd, in their first games of the 2018 calendar year.

The Mountain Lion men entered their matchup having won five straight against Division II opponents, but a second-half run for the Rams proved to be a major difference, as Shepherd won 91-73. Tommy Bolte led Concord with 38 points, while freshman Antonio Patterson scored 11 points, tying his career high.

The Lady Lions had won two of three to close 2017, but lost momentum in the third quarter as Shepherd won 78-66. Danielle Catron was Concord’s leading scorer with 14 points, while Heather Chapman and Emily Boothe contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Concord continues their road trip Saturday with a doubleheader at Fairmont State.
