Community Thanksgiving meal to serve record number of meals this year, volunteers and donations needed

Fayette County, WV (WOAY)- The Community Thanksgiving Meal is expected to break a record this year.

Over 4,000 people signed up to receive a Thanksgiving meal, which is the most people that the organization has ever served.

Organizers are looking for volunteers and donors to help provide and prepare hot meals.

They are requesting food donations, especially whole uncooked turkeys and turkey breasts.

There are several volunteer days and times available for those interested.

Meal prep will begin at 8:00 am on Thanksgiving Day at the Lewis Community Center, and a clean-up crew is also needed.

Anyone interested in donating or volunteering can call (304)382-1421 or send an email to communitythanksgivingmeal@outlook.com.
