WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This morning will be a quiet one as skies slowly get gloomier thanks to increasing cloud cover. There is a cold front currently passing through the central third of the country that will reach us by the evening. This front will bring showers and a few isolated thunderstorms this evening through the night before switching to a wintery mix and snow Friday morning. This snow and wintery mix develops at the back end of the front thanks to a temperature drop of more than 20 degrees. Thankfully, snow accumulation will be little to none besides the very high mountains, and even they will come out on the lighter end of the forecast with around an inch. This system will pass through by noon on Friday, leaving us with a few calmer days ahead. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
After the cold front leaves and precipitation dissipates, skies will slowly become mostly sunny through the day. By Saturday, temperatures will rebound back into the low-50s, making for a wonderful start to the weekend. This nice and uneventful pattern is thanks to a high-pressure system passing through and leaving Saturday night. However, another high pressure will keep us dry on Sunday despite a temperature drop of around 10 degrees between Saturday and Sunday. This weekend will be great for getting outside and doing what needs to get done or setting up any outdoor gifts for Christmas.

As we go into the next work week, most of Monday will be dry. However, similar to Thursday, another round of showers will pop in during the evening and nighttime hours. These will last through Tuesday morning and will be followed by more on and off rainy weather through Christmas Eve. Temperatures will still be above average, but rain may put a damper on the holiday. As of now, we are expecting a Wet Christmas rather than a White Christmas. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
