Lewisburg, WV (WOAY) The City of Lewisburg is calling on local artists to help turn a new piano into a one-of-a-kind public art piece.
City officials say the piano, recently donated to replace the one in the covered area next to City Hall, is now a blank canvas, ready for a creative touch.
The selected artist will have 60 days to paint and seal the piano and will receive $500 for time and supplies upon completion of the project.
If you’re interested, you’ll need to submit a design and application to City Hall by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
Just keep in mind, designs must be submitted anonymously, with no signature included.
The winning artist will be chosen by Mayor White and will be able to sign the finished piece.
Applications are available at City Hall during regular business hours or by requesting one through email at cityclerk@lewisburg-wv.org.
