City of Beckley hosting 2026 Bill Withers Festival on June 27

Beckley, WV (WOAY) A weekend of music and history is coming to Beckley. 

The 2026 Bill Withers Festival will take place Saturday, June 27, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Bill Withers Plaza in downtown Beckley. 

The annual event celebrates the life and legacy of the Beckley-raised music icon with live performances, vendors, family activities, and opportunities to explore the plaza dedicated to the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter.

Festival performers include Lady D and MI$$ION, the Jordan Dyer Trio, The Redd’s, and a closing dance party with DJ Brian Nabors.

Visitors can also stop by the Ebony Ball and Art showcase, featuring artwork from the Black Girls Peace and Paint art sessions hosted by Inner Sunshine Arts.

The celebration continues Sunday with a screening of the documentary “Still Bill” at the Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre at 2:00 p.m.  

Organizers say the festival offers unique opportunities to celebrate the arts, history, and culture of Southern West Virginia.
