WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Temperatures are colder to start the morning, but high pressure moving into the area will keep us dry. Wind chills are in the teens for now, and won’t budge much more through the day. We’ll have another cold night ahead before temperatures recover into the low 40s by Friday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will end the work week. These conditions continue Valentine’s Day, but will gradually deteriorate through the day. Eventually, the first rainfall will drop in by late Saturday night. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
This weekend storm will bring a wintry mix of rain and snow to our region in the wee hours of Sunday morning before it changes to all rain later in the morning. This rainfall will last all day for most of the region thanks to temperatures consistently staying above-freezing. We could see a wintry mix or snow in the highest elevations, but rainfall and temperatures would prevent any accumulation beyond a dusting in those areas. The main concern for this weekend is flooding potential thanks to rainfall and snowmelt causing excess runoff into streams and creeks. Flooding likely stays minor, but could affect our communities to end the weekend. Rain will move away from the area and dissipate late Sunday night.

President’s Day and beyond will feature dry conditions and milder temperatures. Cloud cover gradually increases through the first half of the next work week, but so do temperatures. By Wednesday, we will reach 60 degrees for the first time in a while. However, we could see some sprinkles late Wednesday night. These milder temperatures will be a much-needed reprieve from winter’s cold grasp. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
