Richlands, VA (WOAY) – The town of Richlands, VA has a bridge improvement project coming up.
According to a media release from the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Front Street bridge over the Clinch River is scheduled for replacement.
VDOT plans to close the current bridge to traffic during construction, and the bridge closure begins April 14, 2025.
Drivers can expect detours along Railroad Avenue, 2nd Street and Allegheny Street to access businesses on the east end of Front Street. Traffic traveling from the west along Front Street will be detoured onto Fairfax Avenue to access 2nd Street.
Motorist are asked to watch for detour signs in the area.
Work is scheduled to be completes by April of 2026.
