Braxton County man sentenced to maximum penalty in child exploitation case

A Braxton County court has sentenced a man to the maximum penalty in a child exploitation case.
On January 12, Judge Michael Asbury Jr. sentenced 39-year-old Joshua Bly Miller to 2 to 10 years in prison.
The sentence follows Miller pleading guilty to possession of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct involving a video less than five minutes in length.
The court ordered Miller to serve that sentence consecutively to the prison time he is already serving following a guilty plea to first-degree sexual abuse in Gilmer County.
Upon release from prison, Miller must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and be subject to extended sex offender supervision for a period of thirty years.
Charleston attorney Andrew Chattin represented Miller in this case against Braxton County Prosecuting Attorney Dwayne Vandevender.
