Whitesville, WV (WOAY) A new satellite office is opening in Whitesville to bring essential resources to rural Boone County communities.
The Boone County Family Support Center will hold its inaugural distribution event today at 11:30 a.m. at the Goodness of God Soup Kitchen inside the Shepherd’s Heart building at 38732 Coal River Road.
The new outreach office will provide food boxes, frozen meats, household cleaning products, personal hygiene items, and other family resources.
The center says transportation barriers can make it difficult for people in Whitesville and surrounding areas to reach its main office in Madison.
Director Alisha Woodson says the satellite office will help bring those services directly to people who need them.
