Beckley, WV (WOAY)- Beckley’s popular summer concert series Fridays in the Park returns June 6, bringing live music and lunchtime vibes to downtown’s Word Park.
The weekly event will feature local musician Jay Milam performing from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Food vendors and community booths will also be on-site, offering a festive start to the weekend for attendees.
Later that evening, the community will shift into cruise mode as the season’s first “Cruise-In and Music on Main” event rolls out.
Classic car enthusiasts will gather at Leisure Lanes between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. before cruising through Beckley and lining up along Main Street for display from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Music for the evening will again be provided by Jay Milam, and downtown restaurants will remain open to serve visitors.
On June 13, Fridays in the Park will highlight a musical family performance featuring Mike Kincaid, Michelle and Kate Hontz, and Rebecca Riggs.
Kate, a standout in WWHS Theatre’s Wizard of Oz production as Dorothy, joins her grandfather Mike, known for his Elvis impersonation and oldies hits.
